Nooby question reg .dat file - Guild Wars Forums

Hi,
I've completed about 50% of the PvE game and have a huge dat file with me. Now the thing is, I have a friend who's trying 2 join the game, but he's playing from a dialup modem(I downloaded the game, so has he)!!
My point is, since I already HAVE most of the maps downloaded, I want 2 send him my Game content by burning on a CD, else he'll have to download every map everytime he reaches it. But will he have access to my account as such?? Such as user name/password/chars etc? I'd rather NOT send these across unless absoultely necessary!!!

Or is it safe to burn all that I have and send it and everything's on the server so its safe???

I have no clue how the .dat file works, but since all character info is stored server-side, your friend won't have access to your account, provided he didn't already have access beforehand

You do have to re-enter your password every time you log in, so there shouldn't be a problem.
